RiSoTriene Reduces Cholesterol
The University of Wisconsin School of Medicine has done studies on the cholesterol lowering properties of rice bran, noting that total cholesterol and glucose levels are lowered significantly.
Rice bran lowers triglycerides, LDL cholesterol (the bad cholesterol) and at the same time it maintains and raises the HDL cholesterol. Rice bran contains tocotrienols that have been demonstrated in many studies both in India, Japan, and here in the United States to dramatically lower cholesterol, and to actually reverse coronary artery disease.
Regulates Blood Lipids
There is a compound in the rice bran called lipoic acid (lipoic acid is actually a coenzyme) that is a very potent antioxidant, but also acts as a coenzyme to help the body regulate both the blood lipids and blood sugars. By regulating blood lipids, we protect against the arteries acquiring fatty streaks and cholesterol, thus keeping the circulation open and preventing the cardiovascular disease, which is the number one cause of death in this country today.
